» Transbase® Edge V. 8.3 generally available from 09/2019
V.8.3 extends Transbase® Edge with the Crowd functionality, which allows for a loose combination of databases. Requests to the crowd database are distributed to all connected edge or other crowd databases, whose query results are collected and aggregated. Important to know is: The data do not leave their place of origin. Crowd databases can be nested and cascaded.
You can see a showcase for the use of the crowd function here.

» at the C-chain ExperTalks 2017
At the C-chain ExperTalks in November and December 2017, at the invitation of Prof. PhD Rudolf Bayer representatives of science (professors of computer science) and executives from the industry (automotive, finance, industrial automation, insurance) and asked themselves the question:
How can digital Business Processes be made secure and immutable, thereby revolutionizing entire branches of industry in the future?
Triggered by the almost lost confidence in the financial world, after the last banking crisis, the idea prevailed that one could 'save' the bank by introducing crypto currency based on 'Blockchain'. For some time, the term 'blockchain' in the field of 'Smart Contracts' is becoming increasingly popular. Many companies want to start Blockchain projects. But is this technology suitable for concatenating countless digital Business Processes? How much does this undertaking cost?
Prof. Dr. Bayer showed impressively and comprehensibly the pitfalls of Blockchain esp. concerning the proof-of-work. Afterwards, the group developed the advantages of C-chain in a workshop:
C-chain is used for secure and immutable booking of transactions of a digital Business Process (Smart Contract) via a public or private account (public / private ledger). Similar to Blockchain, C-chain consists of a distributed database whose contents are protected against subsequent changes. The participants of the C-chain can securely exchange their data via transaction chains within the C-chain-architecture. Compared to Blockchain, C-chain is much more efficient, simpler and very easy to handle.
In the following lively discussion, there was consensus about the value of C-Chain. We will develop the topic further.
» at the IoTcamp2017 by Cassini
On October 5, 2017, the IoTcamp2017 by Cassini took place in Munich. We were there and, together with our technology partner fortiss, presented the following topic: How can energy in the home be better utilized?
The successful design of the energy transition goes hand in hand with smart energy use and decentralized energy distribution (Smart Home Scenario). This requires smarter energy networks. The continuous analysis of energy production and energy consumption is crucial for the control of energy production, its feeding into the grids and their use - and thus for the success of the energy transition.
Intelligent Energy Networks - Possible marketing of unused energy potential through Smart Contracts based on Transbase® Edge. Possible challenges are in particular contractual issues and regulations v.a. to the invulnerability of the contract contents and appropriate remuneration (micropayment). Our approach incorporates new technologies such as Blockchain, whose value is still very uncertain in day-to-day operations.
Name of the presenters: Dr. Markus Duchon (fortiss GmbH) and Angelika Hiebl (Transaction Software GmbH). Please also read the session protocol.
We want to continue the topic of smart contracts or the management of digital business processes.
Therefore we organize a series of in-house workshops on the subject C-chain. Are you interested in discussing with us? Then contact us with under the title 'C-chain'.
» at CeBIT 2017
In 2017 Transaction Software GmbH was again at CeBIT and presented:
- Beta version of Transbase® Edge with fully functional support of the platforms Android and iPhone
- SecureBase Version 1.0 (Beta), a framework for end-to-end encrypted database applications, demonstrated using a document archive.
- Vivo, a mobile app developed on behalf of Generali Insurance. Vivo is a multi-functional alarm notification system for Android smartphones and smartwatches.
- Demo version of Transbase® Mobile on Raspberry Pi (IoT applications)
- Simple Query Protocol (SQP) version 1.1, database middleware now supported by multiple databases (Transbase®, PostgreSQL, and MySQL).
Together with our technology partner fortiss, we presented a flexible architecture for the realization of a Smart Micro Grid (SMG). The software uses Transbase® Mobile to automate and monitor buildings, with the integration of energy storage and production facilities enabling energy-optimized operation. The system can be expanded as required and, in addition to the integration of further automation technology, also allows the integration of more complex applications and services. Overall, the SMG2.0 system is a generic monitoring and control platform for IoT applications.
